June 4 was Ari’s half-birthday. I feel horrible because I didn’t post ON the day, but I did manage to get pictures. When you’ve got a baby, sometimes things just take longer. For instance, I rarely clip the nails of both my hands in one session…or hers, for that matter!

I think this is where I’m supposed to say “Time flies!” but it doesn’t seem like it. To look back and go “six months ago she was fresh-born!” is weird, but think about what’s actually happened in those six months, and it seems like a long time.

Ari is the most high-maintenance baby I’ve ever known of. From birth until 4 months we held her basically 24/7…she wouldn’t even sleep unless she was held. Fortunately now (for our backs and sleep tank!) she sleeps most nights next to us. Occasionally she will still sleep in our arms. I have no doubts, however, that when the time comes, she will be as independent as the rest of them!

Lately she’s started sucking on her bottom lip…unfortunately I didn’t get any pics of that, but it’s sooo cute…her little cheeks get all round and it’s just so much cuteness!!

She is becoming quite the little cuddlebug though! (That’s the upside to a ‘clingy’ baby ) She’s started nestling her head in our necks, which is soo cute…unless she spits up, then it just becomes disgusting!

She loves looking at herself in the mirror or in my camera screen (it swivels). That’s how I got this picture!

She has started extending her arms to someone when she wants picked up. She doesn’t do it very often, but I love it when she does!

She’s always hated “tummy time”, but even without regular tummy time from birth, she holds herself up well. She strengthened the muscles by pushing against our chests!

She is still totally fascinated with her tongue! She also puts anything and everything in her mouth. She loves it when I paint my fingernails. She gets really excited when she notices it! Such a girly-girl!

She has THE most gorgeous eyes out of ANYBODY I’ve ever seen!! (BTW, all I did to these photos is contrast/brightness, and a slight vignette on two.)

She’s finally fitting into her 6-month outfits, though the pants are usually too big around the waist. She’s been trying to sit up more…just like if she’s laying back on our laps she will sit up more. She’s rolled over a couple times, but it’s not all the time yet. I think the two times she did it it was an accident and she hasn’t figured out how to do it again!

I just love her little chubby baby handsies and feetsies!!
